When you add a new entity or property, all the master tax codes for the entity type are created for the new entity. You can add any user-defined tax codes that you need for the new entity or property. Each entity or property requires a unique identifying number.
To add a new entity or property number, do the following:
Open Return Manager.
Open a return that has been set up for G/L Direct processing.
Select one of the following on the G/L Direct ribbon:
Click
Tax Codes in the
Account Maintenance group.
Click Custom Tax Codes in the Options group.
Click Add Entity/Property Number in the Entity/Property Number group on the ribbon.
You can delete an entity or property number and its associated tax codes if there are no account assignments or tax journal references associated with the entity or property number. The system checks for these assignments or references before deleting an entity or property number and will alert you if any are found.
